Picnic Wedding Inspiration

Fancy doing a little something different, a little more relaxed maybe and low key. If you love outdoors and are thinking of having a summer wedding then why not have a Picnic themed wedding

Here at this ceremony all the guest are sitting on blankets with beautiful picnic basket floral arrangements to add some extra colour to the outdoors

Red and White Check straight away makes you think "picnic time"! just think of all the wonderful touches you can add to your day and of course what day would be complete without strawberries and cream...

After the ceremony you could use picnic blankets and number them in the same way you would a table

I love this idea of a tea/lemonade bar, draped with blankets to give it that picnic feel

Add a touch of yellow instead by using sunflowers, stunning flowers  and picnic basket favours add a nice finishing touch

Each numbered blanket have their own picnic basket for the guests to enjoy.

Or you could do a mix and match effect, picnic blankets but with a buffet lunch or BBQ or Hog Roast, whatever takes your fancy really. Let your imagination do the work.

Decorate the outdoors with bunting and paper lanterns and you have the perfect wedding venue.

More on Winter Wedding Themes

I think of all the themes winter weddings are my favourite, snow, crystals, sparkle, fairy lights, log fires candles, just some of the things that spring to mind. Its the opportunity to be creative and espcially if its a christmastime wedding there is a vast choice of decorations available to compliment your theme. You can spray branches and make wishing trees for the tables and decorate them with beautiful crystals or hanging tealights.

Silver and white give a classic elegance but you can still enhance your winter theme with a dash of colour

Pale and Ice Blue are perfect accent colours, using baubles is a really great budget idea for table decorations.

Deep Blues are perfect, i love this dress with its additional cosy shrug

Dark greens and purple accents give a beautiful classy touch of colour

Gold for a glamourous touch

We Remember Them...........

On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11 month, the world falls silent to remember those who have given their lives for us. As a mum with 2 children who serve in the the forces i am always proud and honoured, whilst they may not be in the direct line of action they work as part of a team to serve their country.

So on this day of rememberance i have put together some inspiration that uses the very symbol of rememberance "the poppy", whilst we often associate the poppy with such an occasion, the poppy is a stunning flower so do not be afraid to use it as a theme for your special day.

If you do not decide to have it as a main focus of your theme, a perfect tribute to maybe an absent friend or relative could perhaps be incorporated into your day.

We love Vintage Weddings

If you are a keen follower of wedding trends then it would be hard not to realise that "vintage" themed weddings are a big thing right now.
There are some beautiful vintage inspired wedding dresses around, with all their lace overlays,
embelishments and fine details.
You only have to look back at the wedding of Model Kate Moss recently to see the attraction.

So along with the beautiful gowns, beautiful accessories, hair pieces and teacups on the table it would be hard not to see how a vintage wedding couldnt be a hit.

How vintage you decide to make your wedding is entirely up to you, there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to planning, consider what era and elements fit your vision.

When choosing your shoes, especially if your wearing a shorter dress, its crucial that you look out for shoes with beads, pearls and crystals  and a slightly smaller heel. Dont forget though as always try to factor in comfort. Your wedding day is long and you will surprised how glad you will feel if you go for comfort as well as style.

I simply love these

Dont forget to carry your theme throughout with your hairpiece and accessories

And why not finish your outfit with a unique vintage crystal bouquet

when it comes to table centres and settings you cant go too far wrong with teacups, there as some beautiful ones available and if your on a tight budget, why not head down to the local charity shop, its amazing what little goldmines they can be.

They look fabulous on the table by themselves or you could add flowers such as dusty pink and cream roses and have them as centrepieces.
or how about this for something a little different, simple but chic too

Here are a few other ideas to inspire you
