The real wedding of the year!

For some people the wedding of the year happend in April between Prince William and Catherine, but for others the real wedding of the year was between Bella & Edward from the Twilight Saga.
So if your thinking you may like to recreate a "Twilight theme" for your special day here are a few ideas for you to consider.

For those Twi-hards there is good news, from today you can purchase a replica of Bellas dress!
Designer Alfred Angelo has made a significantly less expensive version of the gown for just over £500 ($799)

The original dress designed by Carolina Herrara took around 6 months to make with the aid of four other seamstresses. It was made from crepe satin with chantilly lace with around 152 buttons down the back. The true cost of that dress was approx  £22,000  ($35,000)

Of course you could always look for variations of the dress, here are a few i have found

For those of you looking for hair accessories, keep it simple, how about a replica comb

The hair replica hair comb can be purchased via ebay for around about £30, and there are several websites that have replica rings.

Now lets look at venue decor, the movie decor was stunning, here are a few ideas

If your thinking of ideas for flowers for the bridesmaids what about giving them red ribbons to
 hold instead?

Music - why not go through the Twilight soundtrack or go one further and walk down the aisle to "never think" by robert patterson, imagine walking towards your very own Edward to the song by the guy who actually played the real Edward role.

Vows - what about taking some inspiration from the books such as
Do you really have any idea how important you are to me? Any concept at all of how much I love you? Look after my heart — I’ve left it with you. And the sound of your heart. It’s the most significant sound in my world. Tell me what you want, and you can have it. All of my best nights have happened since I met you. You love me more than I deserve. - Simply Beautiful!!
    I love these Twilight invitations
As an idea for flowers what about ruffled tulips such as the ones on the front of New Moon?
So which was your wedding of the year?  Edward and Bella or Prince William & Catherine?

Congratulations to Zara Phillips & Mike Tindall

Hundreds of well-wishers lined the streets for Scotland's first royal wedding in almost 20 years.

The Queen's granddaughter Zara Phillips married England rugby player Mike Tindall at a ceremony in Edinburgh.

The Brides Dress was an ivory silk faille and silk duchess satin gown by British and Edinburgh-trained designer Stewart Parvin. This was accompanied by a veil, tiara and Jimmy Choo shoes.

Zara's maid of honour was her long-time friend Dolly Maude.

Her four chosen bridesmaids were her half-sister Stephanie Phillips, Mrs Maude's daughter Nell, Jaz Jocelyn, the daughter of a family friend and Hope Balshaw, daughter of best man Iain.

Her one page boy was her godson - and her maid of honour's son

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh were among those at the wedding along with Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince William and Catherine,  and Prince Harry.
Catherine as always looked totally stunning.

Other guests included Prince Andrew and his daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, as well as some of England's best-known rugby players to the wedding.

The Reverend Neil Gardner welcomed guests, including the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh.

The Family Ceremony itself was kept away from the main glare of the public and the press.

After the ceremony the couple emerged arm-in-arm, stood on the steps to the entrance to the 17 Century Kirk and shared a kiss.

The private afternoon ceremony is being followed by a reception at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The newlyweds arrived back at the palace as the Royal Scots Association pipe band played.

The couple hosted a pre-wedding party on the royal yacht Britannia, which is moored in Leith, on Friday night.

The couple met in a Sydney bar during England's victorious rugby World Cup campaign in Australia in 2003.

The England rugby star, who has captained his country, had a stag do in Miami while his fiancee - one of Britain's leading equestrian competitors – had her hen party at a spa in Portugal.

    Last Weeks Celebrity Weddings........

First up we will take a quick look at the wedding of Abbey Clancy & Peter Crouch.

Abby looked amazing especially given that just 14 weeks ago she had given birth.
Showing off her size 6 figure, Abby looked stunning in a white strapless custom-made gown. The Giles Deacon dress was a perfect fit, with a white lace corset and tiered silk skirt - with droplet earrings and loose tousled wavy hair.

Footballer Peter also looked dashing in a black suit and waistcoat with a white tie and white rose on his lapel to match his bride's bouquet.

The couple married at the Church Of St Mary Magdalene, in the 500-acre grounds of the luxury
     country house hotel.
One member of the wedding party is reported to have said ‘The emotion of it all got to Abbey. They were both really nervous – and when she said “I do” she just burst into tears.’
After a slap-up meal, the couple are rumoured to have laid on an evening packed with entertainment, including a live band, magician and karaoke.
Peter and Abbey got married in front of around 120 family and friends at the country estate in Leicestershire.

The Second Wedding of the weekend was that of Kate Moss & Jamie Hince

Lavish was the word used to sum up Kate & Jamies wedding.
They tied the knot at St Peters parish church in the the villiage of Southrop in the Cotswolds.

Kate wore a vintage rhinestone encrusted gown by John Galliano, and her hairdresser friend James Brown took care of her hair for the day. Her headpiece had floral details and her shoes were custom made - with blue insoles - her "something blue" for the day.
With 12 Bridesmaids including her daughter Lila Grace.
They had a traditional church ceremony and photograpy was performed by Mario Testino, who also captured Kate and Wills at their wedding in April.
Celebrity guests included Vivienne Westwood and Stella McCartney, Jude Law, Rhys Ifans and graffiti legend Banksey to name but a few.

Following the ceremony all the guests were taken back to Kates mansion in
    silver rolls royces.
The cost of Kate and Jamies extravaganza? £500,000!

Lily Allen & Sam Cooper, Congratulations!

It's lovely to see a beautiful smile on the face of Lily Allen as she marries Sam Cooper at St James the Great Church in Cranham, Gloucestershire.

She looked radiant in her dress by french designer Delphine Manivet, a 1920's inspired dress which had some echo's of the Duchess of Cambridges wedding dress back in April.
With long lace sleeves, a sweetheart neckline, lace overlay and long train she looked a picture of happiness.

The ceremony took place with less than 100 guests, and Lily was given away by her father Keith Allen. During the Ceremony the couple announced the happy news that Lily is in fact 4 months pregnant, which is delightful in the wake of her previous miscarriage.

Lily and Sam continued with a reception held at their country home, an All Night Garden Party for 300 guests too place. At the reception there are reports of a red telephone box full of beer,  a pimms stand, cupcake stand and a roast pig. Lily was apparently looking after her guests by handing out kebabs  at 3am.  I must say " i like your style Lily"
